How we ...


...support, encourage and assist the 8 high schools, 71 elementary schools and 54 stand-alone preschools in our District; serving 16,275 students in a total of 133 schools:
• advocate for earning and maintaining National Lutheran School Accreditation             (Laura Latzke, Coordinator/Consultant; 708-345-6685)
• serve as liaison with the Illinois State Board of Education
• represent Lutheran schools with the Illinois Coalition of Non-Public Schools
• support schools when unique or difficult situations surface
• collect and manage data
• assist with extending calls to new staff
• visit schools and classrooms for on-site observation and encouragement
• organize workshops and assist with conferences for teachers and administrators

...support, encourage and assist the more than 1200 professional church workers who serve as administrators and teachers:
• meet regularly with administrators
• organize and assist district committees
• maintain and manage official records of commissioned ministers in coordination with the District President
• provide ready assistance for daily issues
• write and distribute weekly e-mail news and other communications
• support colloquy options for non-commissioned teachers
