CTS Candidates Will Serve Throughout the United States

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (CTS)— Men receiving their first call into the Office of the Holy Ministry in The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod began a new journey in Kramer Chapel on the campus of Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana on the evening of April 23, 2008.

Serving as preacher for the call service was Rev. Dan P. Gilbert, president of the Northern Illinois District. The President of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, Rev. Dr. Gerald B. Kieschnick, also shared words of encouragement and blessing with the newly called candidates.

In a separate service, sixty men received assignments for their one-year vicarage as part of their preparation for pastoral ministry. Ten women in the deaconess program received internship assignments.
